Good morning CalSouth Families, we are pleased to officially announce that the Alberta Government has cleared us to throw the baseball again this season. Our season will officially start with games on July 6th, 2020.

We will be forming teams and selecting coaches for each division over the course of the next week so as to get everyone back on the diamonds the week of June 22nd with their respective teams. What this means:

Startup Clinics are CANCELLED. With planning, setup and forming of teams within the next week and a half we will not have the infrastructure to run the clinics as our Board will be hard at work with season preparations. Our apologies as we had no idea things would move this quick.

Our Master Scheduler will be hard at work providing us the best options for games and practices and we will do our best to stay away from weekends although there will be a few.

Our season would effectively run late June until Labour day with time off August Long Weekend.

We have also opened up registration again for any new players or players who previously asked for a refund when the season was up in the air, but now would like to re-register to play with the newly updated information.

Should you like to unregister we ask that you contact our registrar Rachel at before Monday June 15th at 12:00 pm so that it helps our efforts forming teams.

If you are registered and want to stay registered please do nothing, you will be notified when you have been placed on a team.

We understand there are some who are going on holidays during this time and as mentioned we are completely flexible, we only ask that you let the coach know when you will be gone.

Coaches are needed and if required we could have CO-Head coaches to assist with vacations and the like.

Please understand that the safety of our players, parents, coaches, umpires and volunteers is of utmost importance to us and that we will be making the following modifications to the playfield.

– Hand Sanitizer will be used when entering and exiting the field

– Dugout use is allowed, but area will be roped off and extended for proper distancing

– No tobacco, sunflower seeds, peanuts or spitting will be allowed

– Any balls that leave the field of play must be sanitized before being returned to field for use by players

– Player waivers must be signed and handed in prior to entering field at first practice

There are no further modifications to game play at this time, we are playing regular baseball with all the fixings.

Please see to register for coaching or umpiring.

See you on the field soon
